Family breeders of Pyrenean Mastiff and Jack Russell Terrier in Aragon, Spain
We are Santiago and Ana, family breeders based near Zaragoza. For more than a decade, we have devoted our time and passion to the responsible breeding of the Pyrenean Mastiff, the great livestock guardian dog of the Pyrenees, and the Jack Russell Terrier, a small, intelligent, cheerful and affectionate companion.
We raise our puppies at home, with care and respect, always focusing on health, balanced temperament and true breed type. Each puppy grows up in a calm environment, surrounded by affection and early socialization.
Our story: a passion that became a vocation
It all began at an agricultural fair in the Pyrenees, where we were captivated by those imposing dogs with their calm gaze - the Pyrenean Mastiffs, noble guardians and protectors of livestock.
From that encounter, we began our journey with Zacarías Do Tarreo Grande and Coral de Agua Grande, our first mastiffs, who arrived at our home in 2008 and marked the beginning of our story as breeders.
With them, we learned the value of responsible breeding and the importance of preserving a unique Spanish breed - strong, noble, and protective.
A few years later, in 2013, Lura de Gaspalleira, a charming Jack Russell Terrier, joined our family, winning our hearts with her intelligence, cheerfulness, and lively spirit. Thus began our journey with this small but vibrant breed.
Our Breeding Philosophy: Family-Based, Selective and Responsible
At Reis D'Aragón, we believe that breeding well means breeding less - with care and purpose. Our dogs are, above all, part of our family, and that philosophy is reflected in every litter:
- Family raising: our puppies are born and raised at home, surrounded by people, household sounds, and other dogs.
- Health and temperament selection: we breed only from healthy, well-balanced dogs that represent the true standard of each breed, with all recommended health tests performed.
- Socialization and family life: both our Pyrenean Mastiffs and Jack Russell Terriers grow up in a family environment; their calm, affectionate temperament makes them ideal companions for families with children.
- Balanced puppies: from the first weeks, we work on handling, confidence, and adaptation, ensuring well-socialized, confident puppies.
- Transparency and documentation: each puppy is delivered with a microchip, passport, vaccinations, a health and guarantee contract, and registration in the L.O.E. (Spanish Stud Book) to obtain its pedigree..
- Welfare above all: we have only a few litters each year, respecting our females' natural cycles and ensuring continuous veterinary care.
Our Pyrenean Mastiffs: noble and family guardians
The Pyrenean Mastiff is a majestic, calm, and well-balanced dog - and ideal large family companion and reliable guardian.
We select bloodlines that preserve the traditional temperament of the livestock guardian dog: protective without aggression, confident, attentive, and deeply devoted to its human family.
Our mastiffs live freely in spacious natural surroundings, promoting their physical and mental development.
Many of our dogs now live happily with families in Spain and abroad (Norway, Finland, Canada, the USA, Hawwaii or Japan), where they are admired for their noble spirit and serene temperament.
Our Jack Russell Terriers: small, smart, and joyful
The Jack Russell Terrier is a small, lively, and affectionate dog with a brilliant mind. We breed for beauty, health, and temperament, respecting the breed standard and selecting confident, cheerful, and stable individuals.
Our Jack Russells are perfect family companions and excellent with children - energetic yet gentle, playful yet balanced.
Our lines descend from generations of careful selection, preserving the breed's best traits in both character and conformation.
Our Commitment to Responsible Breeding
For us, breeding means respect: respect for the health of our females, for the genetics of each breed, and for the families who will welcome our puppies.
We do not breed for economic gain -puppy sales are not our livelihood- but our of love and dedication to two breeds we deeply admire. Our goal is to preserve their best traits, both in body and temperament.

Aragón TV, through its program La Madriguera (episode no. 24), featured the Pyrenean Mastiff, a native breed of our region. The filming took place at our kennel, where the team learned about our work and dedication to this magnificent breed.
